Good entry place. The Aare is a little quieter on this side of Bern.A jump from the Altenbergsteg is popular with many Bernese, but I don't want to recommend it at this point. But if you jump, then always check that nobody really is swimming, always progress and check beforehand whether the Aare is deeply deep at this point. Unfortunately, there have been too many accidents through careless things.
